The Task Force Report on Museums and First Peoples is a record of the consultation between First Peoples and Museums to develop recommendations for an ongoing working relationship. Working with representatives of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal museums, cultural centres, organizations and government-run culture and heritage programs, the report tackles three main issues in museum ethics. The report focuses on the increased involvement of Aboriginal peoples in the interpretation of their culture and history by cultural institutions; improved access to museum collections by Aboriginal peoples; and the reparations of artifacts and human remains. In addition, the report also delves into creating partnerships between First Peoples and Canadian Museums by outlining specific principles and recommendations to adhere to. The document is attached with related publications for further reading and information.
