When conducting the following exercises, ensure that you are experiencing sounds, and memories of sounds, separately from sight. If it helps, close your eyes!

What are the sounds of your current environment? What do you like most? What would you change?

What is the first sound you can remember hearing?

What are some lost / forgotten sounds?

Sound & Tell: Describing the Sonic Experience

When answering questions about sound without thinking about sight we produce a wide range of answers, yet sometimes with an image we arrive at only one answer.  Spend a few minutes listening to a forest of the world and write about what you heard.

Sounds of the Forest Map

Describe the sounds you hear.

How are these sounds similar to those of a forest near you? How are they different?

How is hearing sounds from these forests different from seeing pictures of them?
