Designed to be flexible and overcome barriers, the Digital Curation Cycle (DCC) model extends the life of digital collections. The DCC Model reflects the continual, cyclical, and interconnected processes that are performed to ensure the preservation, accessibility, usability, and reusability of the content over time.

The DCC Model provides a graphical high-level overview of the stages required for successful curation and preservation of data from initial conceptualization or receipt. The model can be used to plan activities within an organization or consortium to ensure that all necessary stages are undertaken, each in the correct sequence.
